Lake Maggiore

DAY 1:

Arrival in Stresa/Meina area. Accomodation in a good 3-star hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2:

After breakfast starts the trip to the romantic Centovalli. By coach you’ll reach the town of Domodossola, where a modern panoramic train will take you through the picturesque “One Hundred Valleys” and Vigezzo Valley, along deep gorges and crevasses with sparkling waterfalls, through colourful meadows and breathtaking bridges to reach the town of Locarno, in Switzerland. After a stop, return to the hotel on the western shore of Lake Maggiore. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3:

Guided tour of the day: Three-Lake Tour. Along Lake Maggiore you’ll drive to the well-known town of Locarno. Then you’ll reach Lake Lugano and the town of Lugano. The trip continues to Lake Como and the historical town of Como. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4:

Half day journey to Borromeo Islands by private boat from Stresa, Baveno or Verbania; visit the 3 islands known for their luscious vegetation. On the Isola Bella you can see the palace and the huge garden that once belonged to the Borromeo Family. The Isola Madre is the largest island and has a botanical garden with grottos, caves and statues. The Isola Pescatori is very picturesque with old fishermen’s houses and narrow alleys. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5:

Departure after breakfast.
